8th Annual

A Little HOPE would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our eighth annual A Night for Our Children fundraising gala on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Espace.

A Little Hope honored Patricia Donovan-Duff Founder & Director of The Bereavement Center of Westchester with the 2009 Advocate Award. We would like to thank her again for all of her efforts on behalf of grieving children.

A Night for Our Children was hosted by Sebastian Clarke of Antiques Roadshow/Doyle New York. More than 700 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a delicious buffet dinner and were captivated by the sounds of the very talented DJ Skye Nellor.

Guests participated in a Judith Ripka raffle featuring a Ten Thousand Dollar Gift Certificate.

The live auction featured 2 tickets to the Nascar Sprint Cup Race including garage passes, at Pocono Raceway in August; hotel and airfare for 2 to sunny Los Angeles to attend the 67th Annual Golden Globes HBO After Party on January 17,2010; A Sports Lovers Package including tickets to Mets-Jets-Rangers-Knicks-Yankees-Giants-Islanders and Devils games; tickets for 2 to attend the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards; Nets Ball Kid Package; Fox NFL Sunday Pre-Game Show: A slice of NFL heaven for two guests to fly cross-country and meet Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan on the set and enjoying breakfast and lunch buffet in the VIP room at Fox studios while settling down to watch Sunday football; Vacation in the Bahamas for a 5-day/4 night getaway at The Cove Atlantis; Dinner for 8 and Dinner for 4 at Rao’s; and Fund a Bereavement Camp where guests donated $1000.00 and $1500.00 scholarships for children to attend week-end and week-long camps. Children and teens have all the fun of a typical summer camp and also participate in support groups which offer opportunities for them to talk about their loss, in a safe and supportive environment.

We would especially like to thank all of the following corporate and individual sponsors that contributed to the evening’s success.
