9th Annual

We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our Ninth annual A Night for Our Children gala on Thursday, June 10^th, 2010 at Espace.

A Night for Our Children was hosted by Sebastian Clarke of Antiques Roadshow/Doyle New York. More than 800 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a delicious buffet dinner and were captivated by the sounds of the talented DJ Sky Nellor. Mindy Shemtov and Patricia D. Smith, Co-Founders of The Alcove Center for Grieving Children & Families were honored with the 2010 Visionary Award.

Attendees mingled with our special guest, Darryl Strawberry, who generously donated “Play Ball with Darryl Strawberry” – one of our most successful live auction items of the evening!

Our Live Auction featured:
Hang Out with Shaquille O’Neal....At His Home: A once in a lifetime opportunity to chill with Shaq at his home in Orlando Florida, including airfare and a hotel stay at the Ritz Carlton for four;
Three fabulous trips: Napa Valley Getaway at Calistoga Ranch, Positano, Italy Dream Escape at the heavenly Il San Pietro Hotel and a five day/four night getaway at The Cove Atlantis in the Bahamas;
Two memorable experiences: Dinner for 4 at Rao’s and an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles to spend the day at the Fox NFL Sunday Pre-Game Show with Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan.
